Cool technique I never thought of using more than one color .

p38shocker says:

my walls are textured can i still faux

Godis3inOne says:

Sure. Watch the video on Faux painting on Knockdown and How to add knockdown texture by hand and faux paint it, too. That will show you how to add the color wash. : )

Mike thegoodman says:

Ok, someone tell me… Do I have to prime first before faux painting??

Godis3inOne says:

It depends on what surface you are painting on. Slick surfaces need to be sanded and primed, then painted with Satin sheen wall paint before you faux paint. You can use Eggshell but it does make the glaze dry faster than Satin. If you are painting walls, then no priming is necessary. If the walls are flat, then you need to paint with Satin over it. If they are Semigloss, then you are taking a risk putting Satin over it, unless you prime. Hope this helps.

Mike thegoodman says:

ok thanx… And the other question I have is… I like the paint thats on the wall right now and would like to keep it, it matches my furniture… Can I use it for the base coat or do I have redo it???

Godis3inOne says:

You should use the existing color as a basecoat cause your eye will see the color thru the faux painting and will match your furniture even though you have added a color on top. What you should do is paint a poster board with the same color as the walls (same sheen, too) and then play with colors on the board before you attempt to faux the walls. Let me know how you do. Have you considered the system I sell to do the color wash?

Mike thegoodman says:

Yes i have considered it and would like to purchase a kit…

I’m glad. I just gave a class to someone with no experience and he did very well. I did mention to him that practice makes perfect. You can visit the web site (click on the link for the site on my channel page) and see what all is sold in our store. The tools will last awhile if you care for them and you can use them for faux marble, texture and even wood (DVD is in the works). God bless!

Godis3inOne says:

Oh, no problem. Go to the site and click on contact page so you can email your request. We will send you shipping costs and then if you are still interested, we will send an invoice via PayPal where you can pay with credit card or bank account. I believe the shipping to Canada by US Post office is $22 for up to 1 pound. Not sure, write us and we will check. Thanks.

Mike thegoodman says:

ok will do, thanks…

Mike thegoodman says:

I called the other day and I spoke to someone (might of been you)and she told me to email a request and I did, but I got no response and I would love to have the kit ASAP… :)

Godis3inOne says:

Hey there. Are you Mike? If so, we sent the invoice on Nov. 1. If you are not Mike, I am so sorry we missed the call or the order request. Please accept apology and call again or write us again. God bless!

Mike thegoodman says:

Hey, I got the order i’ve been waiting for… I have a question… What are the colors in the jar??

Godis3inOne says:

Hi there. Not quite sure what your question is. The only jars we send are the paint samples which have the names of the colors on the outside of the jars. Is this what you are meaning? Did you get the links for the E-books and extra video sections?

Godis3inOne says:

You can always write us at our website email address, too. It is easier since this forum doesnt’ mention your name. I remember you from the other letters and assume you are the one who lives in Canada, right? God bless!

Mike thegoodman says:

Yeah, that was the question… Yeah, I also got the the link for the E-books and the dvd’s… Thanks again.
